With a law as complex as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), unintended consequences are always a concern. Last week The Wall Street Journal reported that the physician community is witnessing the emergence of a significant unintended consequence — since tax-advantaged flexible spending accounts can no longer be used to pay for over-the-counter medications without a prescription, under the law, many patients are now visiting their doctors expressly for the purpose of getting new prescriptions for the OTC medications. The change in the law was meant to discourage wasteful spending on some health products and raise revenue. Instead, critics say the provision is driving up health care costs. Unintended consequences of the health care reform law is an area of focus for Aetna insurance, and will continue to urge flexibility in the implementation process to help address potential unintended consequences.FederalIn response to various requests for clarification (including from Aetna insurance), federal regulators last week issued a Question & Answer document that further refines the previous proposed rule on student health. Straight out of the penis pump do not work and clinical trials have shown this to be true time after time. Then there are gels and creams for penis enlargement applied directly to the penis and they really did not work either. Yes, they are "the provision of ingredients specially formulated directly on the penis," but they cannot and do not receive their "botanical" for parts of the penis that matters. The only solution is the male enhancement pill.

The newest thing to hit the fitness scene has been group fitness classes. Why are group fitness classes so popular? That's what I wondered, so I set out to interview a whole bunch of people that have participated in either boot camps or other forms of fitness classes to find out what makes them so popular.Reason number one is because it's a harder workout than a "regular" sport. Most fitness orientated people usually play a sport like indoor soccer or basketball one day a week at least. And although these are great activities, people find they get a more intense workout with fitness classes. The reason behind this may be that most people are much more social at recreational sports and active gatherings then at a specific organized workout. Classes are a bit more serious and intense and it seems like everyone shares a common goal. There is one common objective of getting in incredible shape and improving performance or physique.The more people I asked though, the more I heard the same themes coming up. ... [more...]
